I have been really bad about blogging recently so let me start by saying "I apologize". We have been really busy!

Last week I was in New York for work, Cole and Jeff hung out Sunday - Thursday morning then Cole went to visit Cici/Pops for a few days so Jeff could have a little break.

Mom and Dad have a friend that owns a Shetland Pony; they took Cole over to his house and let him ride it. Here are a few pictures of Cole, the pony and his friend.

Amanda my neighbor sent me this picture of Cole and Blake. Looks like they were having fun! We are so lucky to have good neighbors with sweet kids around Cole's age.

I will try to post again this week, hopefully things will settle down a little. Before I end it I have to say thanks to my wonderful husband for running the house while I was working and to my wonderful parents for always being there to help us out anytime we call! Hope everyone has a great week!!

Nice Weekend

This weekend Jeff went to the deer lease (for the last weekend of deer season -- YEAH) so Cole and I had a fun filled weekend together. We spent Friday night playing outside, went for pancakes Saturday morning, to the park, and to the neighbors to watch the Texan's Game Saturday night, church on Sunday.

This was Saturday night at the neighbors house. While the adults watched the game the kids watched Polar Express (Cole's favorite movie)

Happy New Year/Merry Christmas to all! Fair warning , I tried to keep most of these posts pretty short because there are 4 of them that I am trying to get in today. I am behind on my posting since I was off work and busy with Christmas/New Year/sick kiddo/sick husband/etc.

I will start with the last post first and go back through time!

On Christmas Day my family came in to spend the evening with us. We had a great evening with great food and fun. I told Mom and Michelle we must have been really good this year b/c there were lots of presents!

I have to be very honest, I didn't take many pictures this year. We did video him but I am not that tech savy and I am still trying to figure out how to get those on the computer. (In March when I get my I-Phone this will be corrected)

The Friday before Christmas Cole and I made cookies for Santa. He did a pretty good job eating most of the dough and pouring the entire jar of decorations on the cookies and the floor. Then had a 2 hour sugar high from all of the cookie dough) I am not too sure we will be doing this next year... (we may make a trip to HEB to pick out some festive cookies instead)

I told him if he smiled for the camera he could have one. This was my smile.

The weekend before Christmas we went to visit Jeff's side of the family and celebrate Christmas. Seems like forever ago now! Sorry I have been busy and haven't had a chance to post recently.

We went to ride the train like we did the year before. Cole loved it.

This weekend we went to Dallas to visit the Ortegon's and the Dewese side of the family. We had a wonderful trip and really enjoyed our visit. I was being kind of lazy yesterday and I haven't downloaded the pictures yet but if you want a sneak peak click on the Ortegon's Blog on the right.

Chili Cook Off

Jeff and Cole went to B/CS to hunt and visit with family Thursday thru Saturday and when they got home Saturday afternoon we went to the Annual Chili Cookoff held in our Subdivision. Some of our neighbors were on a Cooking Team so all of Cole's buddys were there along with fun activities!

It's Christmas Time!

So last night we introduced the Elf on the Shelf to Cole. It did not go as planned. At first glance Cole liked the Elf, which he named Snowman. Then we got a little further in to the book, the part where we told him that "Snowman" was going to go back to the North Pole every night to report Cole's behavior back to Santa; Cole was not a fan - at all. At this point he told "Snowman" NO and wanted nothing to do with him. After he settled down a little bit we explained that this was not going to be a problem because Cole was going to be nice, he agreed and we placed the elf on his tree in his bedroom so he could see him. Everytime he walked by the tree after this elf was sitting on it he gave him a nasty look and walked away. Hopefully today will go better.

Jeff brought his 4 wheeler home from the lease and has taken Cole on a few rides around the block; Cole thinks this is very cool!

Happy Thanksgiving; Big News and Bad News

Our Thanksgiving was great. We have so much to be thankful for including: good friends, family, and festivities (all of which we were able to see/do this weekend)!

So I will start out by saying Happy Thanksgiving; then on to the bad news -TAMU Football is lacking... Hopefully next year we pick it up a few notches because the TU game was a disaster. Now on to more fun things!

This year for Thanksgiving we went home to B/CS for the football game and family fun. Here is a picture of Cole playing cards with Cici; he has a new interest in cards.

He found Sissy's deer feeder and decided to take every piece of corn out and through it on the ground. (He thought this was really entertaining.)

Happy Halloween

So we started the weekend off with a neighborhood Halloween party.

Then we had Cole's Halloween party at school. He is Tow - Mater from the movie Cars. We hoped he would be a cowboy this year but he was not in to the costume so we went to 3 different Target Stores and finally found the race-car outfit... (Rotten)

I kind of slacked off this year and never made it to the Pumkin Patch. This is outside of HEB (and taken with my camera on my phone). I think they turned out relatively well!

Last weekend we made the trip home for a little football and family time. Our friends Juan and Allison also came in to join us for tailgaiting and to watch us beat the heck out of BU.

We had a busy weekend and managed to have a lot of fun. Friday night I went on a cleaning frenzy, I cleaned out all of the kitchen cabinets and I am amazed at all of the junk we have accumulated in such a short period. Saturday we the neighbors birthday party and a work event in the evening. Sunday it rained all day. The boys got cabin fever so they decided to brave the weather and go to the park.

Last week we got Cole's school pictures. He is such a cutie!!! (I know I am biased but he is really cute) I decided to post all three of our 2 yr pics and I will let you decide who he looks like!

We have been pretty busy recently with fall upon us and deer season around the corner. Jeff and I expanded the garden; Cole helped. We went to Lowes to get some supplies and I took a few pics of the boy playing.

Happy belated Labor Day to everyone! This weekend we took our first family vacation. (I can't believe it took 2 years). We left on Saturday morning at 9AM and headed to the Hyatt Wild Oak Resort. We are a huge fan of this place; if you are looking for a family friendly place to go; this is it!

We got there around 1pm and luckily our room was ready and we were able to unpack and head to the pool. I bought Cole a floaty for the lazy river last week for $2.45 (CVS had an end of summer 75% off sale; I am super impressed with my purchase). As soon as I blew it up he wanted to sit in it. Here he is waiting on us to go to the pool.

Last week Cole went to visit Cici and Pops from Thursday to Saturday. Mom sent me some pictures and videos so I thought I would share. (I haven't been able to share the videos from Snapfish to the blog but as soon as I figure out how too I will!)

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly he has gone from a baby to a little boy and these pictures definitely show it. (tears)

Sorry it has taken me so long to blog; we have been busy and I have been lazy and haven't taken a lot of pictures recently.

Sunday Jeff played golf then we went to the pool as a family and Double Daves for dinner. Cole wanted to wear his hat like daddy and I got the biggest kick out of this because he looks just like my brother did when he was little. Notice the hat pushing his ears down; this is a family thing :)

Saturday Cole wanted to wear his tennis shoes instead of pop pops (flip flops), he looked super cute for about 1 minute until he poured juice on his clothes. I tried to get a picture but he was running away from me. (Luckily I trapped him by the front door and got a few).

Sunday night is laundry night in the Dewese house; EVERYONE in the house has to participate. This was Cole's idea of helping.

Summer Fun

We spent the weekend at home which was a nice change of pace; what was not so nice was the heat! We tried to make the best of it and ended up having a really nice couple of days off.

Last weekend we went to Napa for Bri's wedding and vacation! Mom and Dad kept the boy and my other Dad and Sarah joined us for the trip. We had an awesome time; I can't explain how nice the 75 degree weather was!

July 4th (Yes I am a little late) and the weekend

This is a long post! I am a little behind but here we go:

On the 3rd we had a cul-de-sac party with our neighbors. We set up a pool and bounce house for the kids, everyone brought food and drinks and we celebrated!

Later in the evening we got a surprise visit from the neighborhood fire department. (No nothing was on fire, it was just a friendly visit for the kids!) The firemen gave each of the kids a hat and let them get in the truck for a photo op.

On Monday we did an arts and crafts session (which is few and far between in my house). Cole had a crown and some stickers that were included in a coloring book. We spent a few minutes putting the stickers on the crown. He wears it all of the time.

Over this past weekend Cole and I hung out in the pool we blew up in the backyard while Jeff put up the new swing set Cici and Pops bought Cole for his birthday.

Cole found this hat in one of his drawers; it was from last summer; Jeff put it on him while he was in the pool, crazy to think it was too big last year.

Fun time, Italy and Swimming!

Last week I took Cole to the Dr. for his 2 year check up. He is growing like a weed and healthy as can be! When we finished his appointment we stopped accross the street at my Allergy Doctor's office so I could get my weekly shots. (After I get get my injections I have to wait 20 minutes to make sure I don't have a reaction; luckily they have a small room with a few toys in it to pass the time while we wait.) This is what Cole spent his time doing while we waited.

Mom and Dad are in Italy for 14 days. They went to the Colosseum in Rome on Friday and they sent us these pictures! I am really excited for them and so glad they are sending us pictures so I can use them to persuade Jeff in to going one day.

Over the weekend we gave Cole some yogurt; he was supposed to be eating it instead he used it to wipe all over his stomach.

Cole loves to swim; we usually go to the pool every weekend. Saturday morning we went and I got a few pictures of the fun with my phone.

Big Weekend

So I started off the weekend in B/CS for Bri's Bridal Shower (Jeff and Cole had a boys day at home). The shower was really nice and she got lots of good loot! (Wedding Update - We are up to the Bachelorette Party and Wedding - the fun part!!)

After the shower I drove home to be with the boys and Jeff's parents for the evening. Yesterday was Father's Day and Cole's Birthday Party! His actual Birthday is today. I can't believe he is 2. Our sweet boy is so much fun, he has a huge personality, never stops talking or moving, and is a big love!

We had the party at The Little Gym, I am a big fan of this place, it was sooo easy and Cole LOVED it!

Going to the Chapel and Bath Fun

So I am a little behind on my posting but I really wanted to share these because I think they are pretty darn cute! Last weekend was our friends' Tiffany and Corey's Wedding. Both Cole and I were in the wedding so Jeff was on tap for a Daddy day until my parents got to Beaumont while I was "getting pretty" with all the girls!

Mom took pictures of Cole with her phone (I left my camera at the hotel, errr..) but these turned out pretty well. We were really proud of him; surprisingly (more like shocking), he walked down the aisle like a champ!

Memorial Day and The Cutest Ringbearer Ever

Over the weekend we made a trip to Lake Conroe to celebrate the holiday with Jeff's family. Luckily Cole's second-cousin Maci was there and the two of them had a ball. Maci is 1 month older than Cole and a real sweet heart.

My Honey and Papa sent this water table to Cole for his birthday. He loves it!

And now for the grand finale. Cole is going to be a ringbearer in our friend's Tiffany and Corey's wedding this weekend. Last night we tried on his Tux, it is missing the bowtie but still the cutest thing in the world. (sorry about the quality, these were taken with my phone, more to come after this weekend!)

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a really nice and quiet Mother's Day weekend. Saturday we went to the Houston Zoo for a few hours; Cole really enjoyed it and even sat in his stroller for the most part.

We had a great Easter! Cole had lots of fun during all of the festivities!

Special Day and Preschool Open House

So 5 years ago tomorrow was the day that started everything this blog stands for...Family. Jeff and I tied the knot April 22, 2006 and have since built the most precious thing in the world to me! I wouldn't have it any other way and couldn't be happier to celebrate it with the perfect man for me.

On another note, a few weeks ago the preschool that Cole attends had an open house. It was a lot of fun for him and great for us because we got to spend quality time with his teachers and learn more about his day.

After the open house Cole was exhausted but being the great parents we are we decided he needed to wait until we could all take an afternoon nap and not waste precious rest time in the car.

Cookies, Outside and Big Boy

A few updates: Cole loves to eat/drink a few things, one being waffles, two is the iced cookies from HEB, and the third is drinking orange juice. Below he had just finished eating a cookie, kind of hard to tell from the picture but he had cookie all over his face and was wiping it in his hair (maybe saving it for later)... Here we were working on his golf game. We have decided that Cole is right handed (I am still working on changing this and on the verge of giving up). Unfortunately they don't make kiddy clubs for leftys (pure discrimination) so usually when we practice I help him turn the club upside down so he can practice the right way.

Grandma and Grandpa Wolff bought him a tricycle for Christmas so Jeff and Cole put it together a while back, I love how he knows what to do with the screwdriver (he is also pretty good with a hammer).

Cole loves to read! Here he was reading Danny and the Dimasor (as he pronounces it), he is really in to dinasours and trains these days.

The big news this weekend was that Cole pottied 2x's in the the potty! Here he is wearing his big boy undies.

Weekend at Cici/Pops

Jeff and I went to the lake this weekend with my brother, Ellen, and some friends. Cole went to Cici/Pops house. He had a big weekend as they did some shopping, got a hair cut, went to the Monster Truck Show, the Childrens Museum and did some Easter Activities! Wearing his new sunglasses from Target, eating a binky candy. Showing off his new matchbox cars. (Cole LOVES these)

Aunt Mimi gave Cole is Elmo Easter Basket with colors, socks, coloring books and fake grass. They had a big time with the grass.

Weekend Updates

We primarily hung around the house this weekend. We ran a few errands, played outside a lot, and tried to relax.

Sunday morning I gave him a cup of water and a spoon on the back patio (big entertainer). He decided to share with the dog.

We also had a mascara incident on Saturday morning after breakfast.

We went to breakfast and ran some errands with my friend Bri, on our way home her purse was sitting next to Cole's carseat, Cole got a hold of the mascara and when we got home he looked like this...

Outside is definitely Cole's favorite place to be. As soon as we pull in the driveway every day he ask for "Bake" (interpretation for Blake, his friend, our neighbor) and "Ow-Side" (which is Outside). The two of them play until dinner almost every night, which brings on the usual tantrum as we drag him in (as well as one from Blake). Oh and before I forget, they both have girlfriends too, older ones, Cole's is Julia (or Julia Gulia as Jeff calls her, I will post some pics of her at a later date).

Cole went to Cici/Pop's house over the weekend. Jeff and I went to dinner Friday night and then to the deer lease on Saturday. Jeff has been trying to drag me (kicking and screaming) to the deer lease for 4 years and he caught me at a weak moment last weekend. (I am hoping by going last weekend I can put it off for another 4-5 years.)

So now for the updates...

Not So - Snow Day

So we missed out on the snow, but we did get the ice. We were stuck in the house all Friday and Saturday it was still too cold to play outside but we could drive! Cole and I made the weekly trip to the mall and I did something I have always said I would never do, but desperate times being stuck indoors will make you do crazy things... I let Cole play on the germ infested kids play area in The Woodlands Mall. For those who have not seen it, it is a play area with benches for parents to sit on that gate all the kids in, and there are a LOT of kids. He had a pretty good time and was able to waste a little energy. Here are a few pics, sorry about the quality, they are from my phone.

I had to take this picture, Cole is still very leary of stepping down off of any steps/slopes. So he gets on his hands and knees, turns around and scoots off. This was a whooping 1.5 inches.

First Day of School (Preschool that is)

He had a great first day and as soon as he hit the door left Jeff and I to play. This morning I dropped him off and got the adverse reaction. (fingers crossed this will not be a recuring thing.)

Yesterday our neighbor Shelly had us over for a wonderful breakfast and on the way back to our house Cole found a puddle of water and before Jeff could grab him he was splashing around!

Also, Cici and Pop's sent Cole a new toy that he LOVES, his own (fisher price) laptop. He plays with it constantly (thanks Mom and Dad!)

Tomorrow is Cole's first day of Preschool, keep your fingers crossed it goes well! More pictures to come!

Weekend, Dogs and Arbor Day

We're Back

Well I don't have any pictures of Cole since I was in NAPA BABY! But I do have pictures of the trip so I figured I would post those!

We had a WONDERFUL trip. Good wine, good food and good times! A great place to plan a wedding (Bri and Brent are getting married July 29th!!) and celebrate two dirty 30's, one past (Bri's was December 20th) and the really gloomy one coming this weekend (that would be mine on the 16th)....

I have no idea who drank all of those glasses of wine but I do know we had a really good time at this place (Frog's Leap)

This was at the Cade Winery, they have a fountain with an infinity edge, it is really hard to tell but we are above the cloud line and it looks like marshmallows behind us.

We had a great New Year. Lots of fireworks, food and drinks!

On New Years Eve - Day, Cole found the coffee filters in the pantry, brought them in the living room and decided to take them apart for us while watching Dora..

He also helped me clean the floors (he makes a funny noise while pushing the little sweeper, hence the look on his face).

Jeff bought sparklers, Cole really liked them.

Christmas Fun!

The week started off fairly rough, Cole got a upper respitory infection and a sinus infection that we are still battling but we managed to have a great Christmas!

We started the Christmas Celebrations this weekend in Plano with Jeff's crew! Cole had a big time.

Before we left, doing some reading in his Christmas PJs.

When we got to Jeff's Parents house Cole played outside. He is very careful when stepping on and off of any surface. Here he was getting off of the walkway on to the grass...

Cole has about as much patience as his mother (we are working on this). Jeff was trying to get the tool bench out of the box and Cole didn't think it should take as long as it did.

After opening gifts we went to Santa's Wonderland. It was pretty chilly.

After Santa's Wonderland Cole got to ride a train. He really likes trains! This was his reaction when we walked up to it.

Our Poor Boys!

They don't even know it but They are Aggieland Bound. (Maybe, just as long as they go to college I will be happy) but in the meantime, its fun for us to plan their future! For Cole's Birthday our friends Juan and Allison gave us the coolest gift. (They made our blog into a hard bound book.) So I thought for months about a cool gift to return the favor and I came up with this. Mom and Dad have access to a person who has access to Kyle Field and the Aggie Football Locker Room. One weekend while the "parents" were at the lake this summer my mom and dad babysat and took the boys to Aggieland. While there they took lots of pictures, some of which I had framed and we gave them to the Ortegon's for Mateo's Brithday. I never posted them b/c I didn't want to ruin the surprise but now I can finally share them!

Thanksgiving was lots of fun this year. We had lots of family and lots food, and lots of Aggie Football!

I didn't have too many pics from Thanksgiving but here are a few.

The Scare Game and Face Cream

Jeff taught Cole how to scare people by hiding around a corner then yelling when the other person comes around the corner a while back and it has turned in to one of his favorite games. We call it the "Scare Game". He also knows that he is not supposed to go up the stairs by himself, when he gets on the bottom step he yells for you then waits for you to come tell him he is not supposed to be there and scoop him up while he laughs hysterically. Over the weekend we had a blast playing the scare game on the bottom step of the stairs through the art niche.

He also found one of the Clinique samples of face cream in one of my bathroom drawers, I found him in the closet like this...

Over the weekend we made a trip to College Station to watch the Aggies take down Tech (for those who missed it, it was a great game). We had a lot of fun at the game because my whole family came (minus the little one), we tailgated before the game, slapped hands with the players as they ran on the field, and best of all we beat Tech.

Busy Bee

We have been really busy here recently, with lots to do on the weekends, hunting season kicking off, and a toddler that is on the move pictures are few and far between! Cole is quite the busy bee.

This weekend Cole went to visit Cici and Pops and celebrate Aunt Mimi's birthday while I went to see ZZ Top and Tom Petty in Concert with the girls and Brent, and Jeff went to the deer lease.

Mom and Dad took Cole to Dillard's for new shoes and Target for new Fall Clothes (Big Thanks!). While at Target there was a Safety Festival in the parking lot. Cole enjoyed it.

So anyone who has kids know that it is a real pain to get a good picture of the family. A picture where everyone is looking at the camera, hair/clothes are in place, and if you are lucky, and I mean REALLY lucky everyone is smiling. I have learned the older Cole gets and the more mobile the harder this is but last weekend we were at my Grandma-Grandma's 80th Birthday Party and my mom got this picture of us so I thought I would share. There probably will not be another one of these for a long time!

So last week Jeff mowed the lawn and Cole and I decided to hose the patio off. Cole got a hold of the water hose and had a BIG time! Now everytime we go outside and he sees the water hose it is a fight to keep him away from it!

Jeff has a little head lamp for use in the Garage and the Deer Lease and we put it on Cole the other day. He loves it.

Crazy Week

Last week was a crazy week in the Dewese Home. It all started Tuesday when my building (work) caught on fire, luckily there was no damage on our floor... but the office was closed for 2 days. Then Cole got a stomach virus and Jeff had a bad case of dizziness. Luckily by Friday all was good and we were able to drop Cole off at Mom and Dads for a few days while Jeff and I went to the lake with my brother and his girlfriend. So of course Friday night, I got the stomach virus, followed by Jeff who got it Saturday morning, followed by my Mom who got it yesterday. I am so glad Labor Day is over and I am ready to get back to our normal routine! Now for the fun stuff.

I took Cole to the park last weekend, he had a good time watching the other kids and playing with the toys.

Jeff's parents came in to visit with Cole and gave us the weekend off. Jeff went to the deer lease to prep for the upcoming season and I went to Bri's to do wedding things. BTW - Huge News if you haven't already heard both of my buds Bri and Tiffany are engaged!!

When we got back yesterday we had a lot of things to do.

Cole and I went to Sears to shop for a washer and dryer. I accidentally left his stroller at the house so he got to ride in one of the "rental cars" at the mall.

Busy Busy Bee

Cole has been super busy here recently. He is definitely keeping us on our toes. He has lots of new hobbies. Most of which include touching something he shouldn't or trying to get in something he shouldn't. (This is why it has taken me sooo long to post!)

One of his favorite places in the house is the dog kennel. I swear I didn't put him in it and he does this on his own. He loves getting inside, closing the door and creeping all the way to the back so I have to get in and drag him out.

Howdy and Besties

Cole went to his Cici and Pop's house Wednesday thru Sunday. It was a nice break but we are happy to have him home now. The first couple of days he hung out with the family then Friday - Sunday his bestie Mateo came to hang out while all of the parents went to the lake.

We switched Cole's car seat from the bucket to the big boy car seat. He rode in the new seat this morning for the first time on our way to school. He is such a big boy!

On another note Cole is headed to Cici and Pops for a few days. His buddy Mateo is going to meet him there Friday night to hang out so I am sure we will have lots of pictures next week!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a pretty low key 4th of July. We did a few things around the house, ate some bar-b-que, and picked up my Mom, Dad and Sister from the airport on Sunday from their loooonnng trip to Europe (15 days!!! I thought I would never make it without them!) We also got Cole's hair cut for the first time. It was really cute and he was an angel the whole time (which is quite the opposite from his best friend Mateo who did not appreciate his first haircut (See the Ortegon's blog on the right)).

Low Key Weekend

This weekend was a low-key weekend at home. It was great to relax and get some things done around the house. While we recuperated from the Birthday Bash Cole was very busy.

He created a short lived game with us. He was extremely proud of himself for climbing the stairs.

1 Year!!!

Cole turned one on Father's Day. We had a party at the house and all of our family and friends joined to celebrate Cole's baptism, birthday celebration, and Father's Day. It was organized chaos but a whole lot of fun. We started the day at church where we completed a child dedication. Here are a few pictures:

So this weekend was a big weekend. Mimi graduated from Bryan High on Saturday. She was the star of the ceremony, she spoke 3 times and was number 6 in her class! Cole was an angel and slept through most of the ceremony only waking a few times for the cookies Uncle Tim and Aunt Gloria brought.

After graduation we made a short trip to the lake. This was Cole's second trip to the lake but first boat ride. He had a blast!

Our next door neighbors have an 18 month old named Blake. He and Cole are pretty good buddies. Blake has the same car Cole does so we pulled both of the cars out and took a few pictures. (One more thing I left off of Cole's 11 month post, he loves kids.) I think he and Blake will be pretty good friends!

11 Months

Cole is 11 months or as we have been referring to him recently as Mr. Personality. He now throws mini-tantrums which I am sure are a wonderful sign of what is to come in the next few years. He loves the dogs and is no longer scared of them (see below). His favorite person is still Dad and he loves oranges, ice cream and drinking out of a cup with no lid. (He usually throws one of his tantrums if you hold back on any of those items.)

Mother's Day

We were in Mexico on Mother's Day (yes, really bad planning on my end but when you have never been a mother and running 90 to nothing sometimes you forget these things) luckily my husband and my family managed to make it ok. Jeff bought me a really nice ring with Cole's birthday engraved inside of it and my family took these pictures a while back and sent them to me via email on Mother's Day! I love them so much that I wanted to share these awesome pics of the boy. My Angel! I am so lucky to be surrounded by such a great family, husband and son (aka my boys)!

We had a great trip with the Ortegon's! Mexico was wonderful and we were very happy to go back for a visit.
