What's been going on...

I have been meaning to post some of the pictures from my phone for a little while so I figured today was a good day!  (a little something to get you through the end of the week!)

On Memorial Day all of our neighbors gathered in our culdesac for a potluck Memorial Day Party.  One of our neighbors brought their bounce house.  All of the kids had a blast, here are a few pics of Cole going down the slide.  I love his facial expressions. Oh and by the way at the party we decided that all of our kids have a really rough life.

Walking the dog.  I don't know if there is anything cuter than a boy and his dog.

A few weeks ago Jeff played in a golf tournament and attended a dinner after so Cole and I had a dinner date.  I have been a big fan of mexican lately so we hit up Guadalara.  I ordered Cole the kids Tacos Al Carbon, turns out he is a fan.  He ate 2 tacos this size, an entire bowl of salsa with chips and had ice cream with chocolate sauce to top it off.  I told the waitress we may be back on a daily basis if they could get him to eay like that.

The other day I was changing Cole's sheets and he decided to help. Can you find the monkey on the bed? his new bed comes in on Tuesday (yeah). I think he has outgrown this one.

Not sure if I mentioned this in the past but our son likes the ladies.  He has 3 girlfriends. One of them is Riley, she is in his class at school, I think I have posted some pictures in the past from her birthday party.  He also has 2 girlfriends in the neighborhood both of them are older, 6 years old to be exact.  I must point out that one is from Russia, Julia, and the other is from Mexico, Celia.  On Monday Jeff and Cole were outside and Jeff poked his head in the house and told me to come out and look at Cole.  They set up the slip in slide and both Julia and Celia were playing with Cole, he was in heaven.

More to come next week.  This weekend Sarah, Jeff's sister is getting married and Cole is one of the two ringbearers

Mother's Day and Pop's Birthday

We (Robert, Ellen, Jeff, Cole, Mimi and I) decided about a month ago that we would all surprise Dad at the lake for his birthday which was Saturday and also celebrate Mother's Day while we were there.  We all had a great time.  Jeff and I have decided that when Cole turns 16 we are going to have a hard time keeping him at home on the weekends and away from the lake.

When we got there Cole and Pop's decided to feed the fish.

Looking for bugs.
We brought Cole's new fishing pole and some hot dogs so he could fish for perch.
Here are some pictures of his first catch.
A picture in his new super man cape Cici bought him.  I think he likes it.
Feeding a few more fish.

Next we went out on the boat.

I decided Cole is old enough to start riding in a tube behind the boat.  He absolutely loved it.

I hope all of the Mom's out there had a great Mother's Day!  Next weekend we are going back to the lake with the Ortegon's.  Can't wait to see them and meet Mia for the first time.  Hope everyone has a great week!

Trike-A-Thon and Playing Outside

Last week Cole's school held the St. Judes Trike-Thon.  He loves riding his tricycle so he was very excited.  Here are some pictures of him practicing his skills.  I think by his birthday he will be ready for a "big boy bicycle", I have started checking out the Huffy's at Academy!

About every other night Jeff takes Cole and Lucy to the pond and park after we all get home.  I go with them on occasion and happen to get some decent pictures with my phone of Cole showing off at the pond while Lucy swam.  Typical boy he likes the grass.  He likes to tell us how soft it is and lay in it... unfortunately for him he has his mom's allergies so when he gets up he usually has a rash from the grass.  Poor kid.

Over the weekend we pulled out the Slip-N-Slide and enjoyed the weather, not yet too hot, just right to play in the water!

More to come later, hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Updates and Milestones

A few weeks ago we went to our neighbor Shelly's sister's house with some of our other neighbors.  Here are a few pics of Cole playing in the water and hanging with Evie and Noelle our neighbors twin girls.  He calls them his girlfriends.  Their Dad Chris says Cole only has a few more years of being allowed to hang out with them and after that they are only allowed to hang out with other girls, no older men :)

I have been meaning to post some updates on milestones that Cole has made recently and thought about saving them for a birthday post but after much thought I decided to post a few now.

A few months ago we moved Cole from the nursery in to what was our guest bedroom because it is further away from our room/doesn't connect to our room and a little bigger.

Click on the link below to see the old room.

Here are a few pics of his new room.

Since I took these pictures we have converted Cole's bed in to the toddler bed as he was constantly climbing out. Now he still climbs out, just much quicker.  To see him in action before the transition watch the video below that I took of the monitor..

Bedtime has become pretty simple as long as we lock the door from the outside and get him in bed by around 8 pm, naptime is the complete opposite.  I have all but given in to the fact that our child will never take another nap at home again.  (side note - he takes a 2 hour nap like clockwork at school on his mat with the other kids in his class)

On Sunday I walked in to his room after leaving him for a while in what we will now call "quiet time" and this is what it looked like. (other side note- he crawls in to the armoir and plays in it during "quiet time")

On another note we (as in the preschool Cole attends, thank the good Lord for his teachers) have been working on potty training and for about 2 months now Cole has been in "big boy underwear".  He has #1 down cold, rarely ever has an accident.  Numero Dos is a different story; we throw away A LOT of underwear as his pregnant mama is not cleaning out a pair of underwear that at most cost $1.  Hopefully before his birthday we will get this down.  Forgive me for those of you that do not want details but I do not scrapbook and I want to have some record of when our kids hit certain milestones!

Hope everyone has a great week!
